What are Melo-Pearls?

I only know that melo pearls are the pearls which are produced by snails instead of oyster or mollusk.

Melo melo “pearls” do not come from an oyster or mollusk, but from the melo melo marine snail, they are not actually a nacreous pearl because they have no nacre. They are very rare but when found can be large and usually very round.

Melo pearls are orange in color and mostly found in Myanmar coastal areas. These are hard like. In Myanmar these are equally important like all other precious gems and used in jewelry like engagement rings.
